Something That Rolls

In an earlier post, I mentioned that Joey, when asked what he wanted for lunch, responded, “Something yellow.” This use of language has expanded in interesting ways; Sometimes when he wants an object, rather than using its name directly, he creates a puzzle for my wife and I. For example, instead of asking for milk, he’ll ask for something white to drink. Here are some examples from this morning:

Something that rolls — ball
Something that spins — yo-yo
Something that takes pictures — camera
Something that tells minutes — clock
Something that talks — telephone

I feel very fortunate that I can spend this time with him and his little sister. If they were sitting in daycare, we would be missing out on so much of their development.
